There is an interesting exchange developing between Terrance Tilley of Fordham University and Fr. Thomas Weinandy, the executive director of the U.S. bishops’ Secretariat of Doctrine. As reported by John Allen over at the National Catholic Reporter, Fr. Weinandy has gone after Prof. Tilley by accusing him of “doctrinal error and ambiguity” during an address he gave at the latest annual convention of the Catholic Theological Society of America.
